The Border Crisis in Del Rio Was Caused by Biden, Now There’s a Second Attack on DHS Agents

We reported earlier how Haitians who were on board a bus from Del Rio to Brownsville attacked the DHS staff who were guarding them and hijacked the bus. Some of the staff were injured and some of the illegal aliens temporarily escaped but were then rounded back up by local law enforcement.

But this is just one of the many problems that Biden’s border disaster has fostered.

First let’s start with the fact that again, the almost 15,000 Haitians living under a bridge at the border in squalor was a crisis of Biden’s own making.

From NY Post:

These are not people escaping an earthquake or political unrest or extreme poverty in Haiti, according to one of the most informed border observers, Todd Bensman, senior national security fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and author of “America’s Covert Border War.”

All the Haitians he has interviewed have been living in Chile or Brazil for the past three to five years.

“I’ve never met one yet who is actually coming directly from Haiti,” he said. “But they will probably apply for asylum on the basis of [problems] in Haiti.”

Bensman has covered the border crisis for more than a year, traveling through Guatemala and Mexico to interview migrants.

The Haitians now in Del Rio were “living a pretty good life [in South America] but they are seeing an opportunity to improve their situation,” he says.

“They say they heard Joe Biden was opening the border up so they came.”

Most of the folks aren’t being deported, according to reports, but rather, secretly bused to other places all over the country to then be released. The reports were that single men were being deported, while family unit were getting to stay.

Of the 3,300 processed over the weekend from under the bridge, just 327 were sent out on flights to Haiti. So only about ten percent. So where did the other folks go? To centers to be processed elsewhere, to be released into the U.S.

But there were problems caused today on one of the flights back to Haiti.

DHS confirmed to Fox’s Bill Melugin that Haitian migrants who were on a deportation flight back to Haiti caused “two separate disruptions” on the tarmac in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, injuring three ICE officers who sustained non-life threatening injuries. Haitian crowd control police were involved in responding.

They don’t want to go back to Haiti because they haven’t been there in years and would be at a complete loss.

Although most are being released into this country, this threat of being possibly deported back to Haiti is now actually having a positive effect and causing some to decide to go back to South America rather than risk being deported to Haiti.

So Biden accidentally tripped across one of the things that made the Trump policies so effective — deterrence. That said, there are still a tremendous number of people just being released into the United States.

Armed St. Louis couple who defended their home from angry mob speaks out

UPDATE: St. Louis police are investigating the mob for trespassing and fourth-degree assault by intimidation.

Hundreds of protestors called for the resignation of St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson on Sunday night as they made their way to her house chanting “resign Lyda, take the cops with you.”

As the protest went by, a couple stepped out of their home carrying guns at about 7:30 p.m. Mark McClosky, 63, was carrying a rifle while his wife Patricia, 61, had a handgun which she pointed at the protestors.

The group of approximately 300 protestors gathered after Mayor Kewson gave out the names and addresses of activists pushing for police reform. Krewson released the information over Facebook Live on Friday afternoon, reports KMOV4.

The two are personal-injury lawyers and work at the McCloskey Law Center in the city. Many are criticizing the couple online while others are showing them support.

Mark McCloskey said he and his family were eating dinner as the protestors passed through an iron gate that said “Private Street” and “No Trespassing.”

The protestors can be seen walking through the gate on a video that was posted to social media.

“A mob of at least 100 smashed through the historic wrought iron gates of Portland Place, destroying them, rushed towards my home where my family was having dinner outside and put us in fear of our lives,” McCloskey said.

“This is all private property. There are no public sidewalks or public streets. We were told that we would be killed, our home burned and our dog killed. We were all alone facing an angry mob.”

Many mainstream media reports about the incident painted the couple in a negative light and failed to disclose that the mob were uttering violent threats and trespassing on private property.

An online petition calling for Mayor Krewson’s resignation has received over 40,000 signatures so far. The people calling for her resignation claim Krewson doxed people by sharing the information over Facebook. A spokesperson for the mayor noted that the information was all public record.

“Tonight, I would like to apologize for identifying individuals who presented letters to me at City Hall as I was answering a routine question during one of my updates earlier today. While this is public information, I did not intend to cause distress or harm to anyone,” said Krewson in a statement. “The post has been removed and again, I sincerely apologize.”

Tishaura Jones, the St. Louis City Treasurer posted a tweet that said: “The Mayor’s actions not only endanger her citizens, it is also reckless.”

Trump to celebrate border wall milestone in Arizona | Merced Sun-Star

President Donald Trump is set to mark 200 miles (322 kilometers) of wall along the southwest border in Arizona on Tuesday, in an area where crews have built dozens of miles of new fencing amid a coronavirus breakout and protests from opponents who say construction is destroying important habitats.

Trump will be accompanied by Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf, who was in Yuma in January to celebrate the competition of 100 miles (161 kilometers). Wolf called the wall system an “undeniable impediment to smugglers, traffickers and other criminals who have exploited our lack of effective border infrastructure to smuggle drugs, illicit goods and engage in human trafficking.”

It’s unclear where exactly within the Yuma Sector, which is near the California-Arizona border, Trump will visit, and the Border Patrol declined to give specifics on Monday. But Yuma has been an important place in Trump’s promise to build a wall along the southern border. The president tweeted on Monday afternoon that he will celebrate the “212th plus mile of completion,” offering a different number than DHS officials gave in a news release earlier.

The agency says it has completed 61 miles (98 kilometers) of border wall and plans on building another 109 miles (175 kilometers) in that rugged area of mostly desert. Most of the new fencing that’s gone up is 30 feet (9 meters) high.

The Trump administration has promised to build 450 miles (724 kilometers) of border wall by the end of the year, aided by relaxed procurement laws that allow the government to award contracts to construction companies without much vetting. The government has awarded over $6.1 billion in construction contracts since April 2019, according to a tally by The Project On Government Oversight, a nonpartisan and independent watchdog.

Construction has continued despite a coronavirus outbreak that’s hit the Yuma area hard, and amid opposition from environmentalists and Native American tribes.

“Trump’s racist border wall has scarred our public lands, destroyed cultural sites for Indigenous people, and pushed wildlife closer to extinction,” said Brett Hartl, chief political strategist at the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund. “With the country’s economy wrecked and coronavirus cases spiking in Arizona, his visit is a cheap political campaign stunt that only reveals how out of touch he is.”

The pandemic isn’t stopping plans for more border barriers anywhere.

In South Texas, where most border land is privately owned, the Justice Department has sued dozens of landowners to survey or seize their property for wall construction, including an orphanage operated by nuns in Laredo.

Crews have built several small sections but not yet come close to completing the wall through Laredo or the Rio Grande Valley, the southernmost point of Texas. Almost all of the U.S. land next to the Rio Grande, the river that separates Texas and Mexico, does not yet have a wall.

Even without a wall, border crossings have fallen drastically in the Rio Grande Valley since late last year due to a series of policy changes enacted by the Trump administration.

On the southern side of the Rio Grande, thousands of asylum-seekers live in shelters, churches, and a sprawling refugee camp waiting for their immigration court cases. Others have been expelled to their countries of origin without due process under an emergency border closure enacted in the coronavirus pandemic.

Following his border wall tour on Tuesday, Trump will head to Phoenix to speak at a Students for Trump convention at Dream City Church.

Trump’s last appearance in Yuma was in 2017 when he visited with U.S. Marines and Customs and Border Protection agents.

Associated Press reporter Nomaan Merchant in Houston contributed to this report.

Trump campaign refutes AOC boast that teens sabotaged president’s rally

AOC should be investigated by the DOJ, the FBI and the CIA for Aiding and Abetting the Enemy. Call them now!

By Alex Nitzberg June 21, 2020 – 2:43pm

The president’s first campaign rally in months drew a smaller crowd than anticipated on Saturday in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale tweeted that protestors prevented some people from getting into the rally, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded by saying that the Trump campaign experienced an artificially inflated number of ticket requests.

“Radical protestors, fueled by a week of apocalyptic media coverage, interfered with @realDonaldTrump supporters at the rally,” Parscale tweeted. “They even blocked access to the metal detectors, preventing people from entering.”

The New York Democratic congresswoman retweeted Parscale and said, “Actually you just got ROCKED by teens on TikTok who flooded the Trump campaign w/ fake ticket reservations & tricked you into believing a million people wanted your white supremacist open mic enough to pack an arena during COVID.”

The New York Times reported that users of the social media platform TikTok and fans of Korean pop music groups claim to have inflated rally registration numbers by signing up for tickets online.

Parscale on Monday had tweeted that the campaign received more than one million ticket requests ahead of the rally. But there reportedly were thousands of empty seats inside the Bank of Oklahoma’s BOK Center during the rally.

In a statement on Sunday, Parscale explained that the campaign identifies fake phone numbers in rally registrations when figuring the potential number of people who may attend. He also noted that people do not need to pre-register to gain admission to the president’s rallies.

“Leftists and online trolls doing a victory lap, thinking they somehow impacted rally attendance, don’t know what they’re talking about or how our rallies work,” he said in the statement. “Reporters who wrote gleefully about TikTok and K-Pop fans – without contacting the campaign for comment – behaved unprofessionally and were willing dupes to the charade. Registering for a rally means you’ve RSVPed with a cell phone number and we constantly weed out bogus numbers, as we did with tens of thousands at the Tulsa rally, in calculating our possible attendee pool.

“These phony ticket requests never factor into our thinking,” he said. “What makes this lame attempt at hacking our events even more foolish is the fact that every rally is general admission – entry is on a first-come-first-served basis and prior registration is not required.”

Parscale sharply criticized the media, saying that people chose not to attend the rally due to media warnings about coronavirus and protestors.

“The fact is that a week’s worth of the fake news media warning people away from the rally because of COVID and protestors, coupled with recent images of American cities on fire, had a real impact on people bringing their families and children to the rally,” Parsacla said. “MSNBC was among outlets reporting that protesters even blocked entrances to the rally at times. For the media to now celebrate the fear that they helped create is disgusting, but typical.”

The Senate Can’t Stay Silent – It is Time to Debate the JUSTICE Act

By Jordan Sekulow yesterday

As we told you yesterday, the U.S. Senate is poised to consider the Just and Unifying Solutions to Invigorate Communities Everywhere (JUSTICE) Act. This legislation, sponsored by Sen. Tim Scott (SC), is an important first step toward addressing the inequality that many black Americans encounter in law enforcement.

We as Americans have much to be proud of when it comes to our system of justice, and we should all be tremendously grateful for the men and women of law enforcement who put themselves in harm’s way on a daily basis for our well-being. We can all also agree that even one injustice that causes a loss of life is too many, and there is much we can do to be even better going forward.

The American people understand both the importance of law enforcement and the need for ever-greater equality under the law. The American people understand and agree that it is time for our elected officials to lead on this issue. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear that enough of our elected officials have reached the same conclusion.

The shocking reality is that the U.S. Senate may not even have the 60 votes required to BEGIN debate on the JUSTICE Act. One might assume that debate on an issue of this magnitude would be automatic in the U.S. Senate. Unfortunately, that is not the case. It will take 60 votes to even BEGIN debate on the Senate floor.

All 53 Republican Senators (including Sen. Scott and Leader McConnell) are expected to vote to begin debate on the measure, but it will require that at least seven Democrat Senators vote with them if there is to be a debate. Voting to begin debate does not in any way bind a Senator to supporting the bill in the end. But it is, in fact, the only way to ensure that every Senator has an opportunity to both debate and vote on the measure. It would be a travesty to deny the families of the victims involved a debate on these reforms.

That is why the ACLJ is calling on every Senator to vote to begin a debate on this critical matter. (You can learn more about the legislation and our analysis here.) You can stand with us in this demand. There are three specific actions you can take:

  1. Sign our petition calling for Responsible Police Reform.
  2. Contact both your U.S. Senators and ask that they vote to begin debate on the JUSTICE Act. The U.S. Senate switchboard is (202) 224-3121.
  3. Contact the following U.S. Senators and ask them to vote to begin this important debate on the floor of the U.S. Senate:
  • Sen. Cory Booker (NJ) – (202) 224-3224
  • Sen. Bob Casey (PA) – (202) 224-6324
  • Sen. Chris Coons (DE) – (202) 224-5042
  • Sen. Kamala Harris (CA) – (202) 224-3553
  • Sen. Doug Jones (AL) – (202) 224-4124
  • Sen. Tim Kaine (VA) – (202) 224-4024
  • Sen. Joe Manchin (WV) – (202) 224-3954
  • Sen. Jacky Rosen (NV) – (202) 224-6244
  • Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT) – (202) 224-5141
  • Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (NH) – (202) 224-2841
  • Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (AZ) – (202) 224-4521
  • Sen. Jon Tester (MT) – (202) 224-2644
  • Sen. Elizabeth Warren (MA) – (202) 224-4543

The American people know the truth. Law enforcement plays an essential and positive role in our society. But it is time for commonsense reforms. The U.S. Senate should begin the debate.SignDonateShare
