“I’m on the Homeland Security Committee we are working very hard on our border and that issue is going to continue to build. I’m on the Oversight Committee and we have very important investigations happening there. You mentioned January 6th and the D.C. jail, I’ve gotten permission from Chairman Comer to lead on that. We’ve sent a letter to Mayor Muriel Bowser waiting for a reply, we haven’t gotten a reply back yet, but we are demanding a tour of the D.C. jail. In the meantime, I’ve gotten word from quite a few people that they’ve moved out some of the pre-trial January 6th defendants to other jails. I think they are trying to clean up their act over there before Republicans come in to see what the place is all about.”
