Dear Terusa Farms

I’ve got bad news.

U.S. Senator Rand Paul’s amendment to repeal the Post Office Gun Ban was voted down yesterday in committee.

When you see how they voted, your jaw will hit the floor!

Anti-gun lawmakers led by the accidental U.S. Senator, Mark Begich, from Alaska fought tooth-and-nail to avoid having to take an actual vote on the issue.

Ultimately they had no choice but to go on record not once — but twice — thanks to Rand Paul’s leadership.

Unfortunately, several key U.S. Senators voted anti-gun, exposing their true opposition to your right to keep-and-bear arms.

Amongst those voting to gut Senator Paul’s amendment and to preserve the Post Office Gun Ban were:

* Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK)
* Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA)
* Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT)
* Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR)
* Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND)
* Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO)

Sadly, many politicians profess to be pro-gun publicly, but when it comes to key behind-the-scenes committee votes . . .

. . . they’ll happily vote to stab gun owners in the back.

And that’s exactly what they did yesterday.

It started with an amendment from anti-gun Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) to gut Sen. Paul’s proposal.

Thanks to Senator Mark Begich, this “poison-pill” passed.

But then they began to worry that gun owners like you were paying attention.

Capitol insiders reported that some Senators, like Mark Begich, had read the NAGR alerts, and were very nervous when they saw your reactions on Facebook and Twitter.

When Sen. Begich realized what he had just done to you, he panicked and started backtracking.

Then, later on, the committee revisited Senator Paul’s amendment again, but only to vote to kill it outright.

Then they voted for a watered-down scheme proposed by Begich addressing carry in the parking lot of a post office only.

Begich’s poorly drafted amendment is riddled with technical problems, and it would allow the Post Office lobby to remain a “gun-free” criminal safezone.

Also, your National Association for Gun Rights already scored a huge victory over Post Office parking lots in district court.

In other words, Begich killed the Post Office Gun Ban repeal in exchange for virtually nothing.

Begich’s amendment was little more than a craven-political calculation to appease his anti-gun overlords in Washington while attempting to sell a bill of goods to his pro-gun constituents in Alaska
.

Simply put, Begich’s amendment keeps Post Office lobbies as “gun-free” criminal safezone.

Please take a moment to contact these anti-gun U.S. Senators.

Urge them to apologize for ignoring gun owners, and voting to preserve the Post Office gun ban.
